Whimsical Lollipop Flowers Nail Art

Gambar
Nothing to Disclose I have a file of  "manis to recreate" which I started probably in 2011 and well, haven't updated it since like 2013. Even so, I randomly looked through it and found this gorgeous Simply Rins manicure that is so simple and I always wanted to try it. As I continue with The Nail Challenge Collaborative's theme of Spring Flowers, I just needed to include these! Whimsical Lollipop Flowers Nail Art I started with a base of Elevation Sample GGM #24 which is sort of a go to base for me. It's a grey polish with the slightest amount of holo. I love it and use it often which genuinely worries me haha.  I then grabbed a bunch of Elevation Polishes and other pastel cremes and just blobbed colors with the polish brush. I used colors like Mount Augustus, Dykh Tau, Echinops, and El Cap 2. This looks like nothing until you go in with the black where I added the center squiggle and a stem with petals. Super easy! I had a lot of people grabbing my hands to look ...

Abstract Doodle Recreation with Zoya Island Fun and Paradise Sun Collection

Gambar
Press Sample The Zoya Island Fun and Paradise Sun collection landed on my doorstep a few days ago and I immediately wanted to put them to use. Around the same time, Kelly from Set in Lacquer announced that she would no longer be blogging. Kelly is always amazing at nail art (probably most known for her gorgeous florals), so a bunch of us decided to recreate her beautiful looks! Abstract Doodle Recreation with Zoya Island Fun and Paradise Sun Collection I started with a base of Zoya Genesis from Paradise Sun, which is a white shimmer. This is a very thin polish and will need 3-4 coats to be fully opaque (swatches coming soon). Then I used all the cremes in the Island Fun collection to create the doodles.  Jace, Cecelia, Talia, Serenity, Nana, and Demetria are all beautiful cremes that work well with nail art. They are super opaque so they will definitely be a staple in future art. Like Kelly said in her blog post HERE , there's no rhyme or reason. I just took a striping brush and cr...

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Once More with a Feeling Collection Partial Review

Gambar
Press Sample Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer is re-releasing her Buffy the Vampire Slayer-inspired collection with some new additions and I have a few to show you today! I love this show. When I was younger, I had a tiny TV in my room with just 11 channels and Buffy was on one of them! I used to stay up late just to watch Buffy! So for me, I love this collection. The three I have are soft holo polishes with lovely flashy shimmers that make them super unique. Check out more photos below and details about this collection. Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Once More with a Feeling Collection       Dorkhead?! You Slash Me With Your Words (Xander): 2 coats.  "Light green linear holo with a strong mint flash." Like I said, these polishes are very soft holo polishes, and while this pulls silvery green, depending on the lighting, the green does coat out. This polish had a great formula too. Dorkhead?! Takko Lacquer Heart Shaped Box

Gambar
Nothing to Disclose Today I have a little swatch of Takko Lacquer Heart Shaped Box. This polish came out as a mystery polish around Valentine's Day. I didn't get it then because I'm not into mysteries, but picked it up during her sale last month because, why not? Takko Lacquer Heart Shaped Box Let's talk about this polish. Pink, holo, flakies: I should love it. And I do! But only in the sunlight. In the sun, Heart Shaped Box is a vibrant pink polish with a tiny bit of holo and awesome multichrome flakes that mostly pull black.  Takko Lacquer Heart Shaped Box Here is a close up of the flakes, they really are awesome.  Takko Lacquer Heart Shaped Box Takko Lacquer Heart Shaped Box Here's the polish in the shade where it completely transforms, and maybe not in the best way for my skin tone. It pulls super metallic/frost like and looks kind of "old lady" mauve on my skin. I'm glad I waited for sun, because this is not flattering on me in this way.  Takko La...

OPI Graffiti Nail Art with To Be or Not to Beagle

Gambar
Nothing to Disclose Don't you love when art just comes together? I had put on a different nail polish and hated it. I removed it and sat with naked nails and boom, I see this untried glitter, and like I always do, decided to let the glitter inspire me! I went with a theme and used mostly OPI polishes.  OPI Graffiti Nail Art with To Be or Not to Beagle I began with two coats of OPI My Vampire is Buff. Then I grabbed a bunch of polishes that coordinated with OPI To Be or Not to Beagle which is the glitter from the Peanuts collection. I used colors like Feel the Mo-heat-ones, I Just Can't Cope-Acabana, and other cremes. I used the brushstroke method where you remove most of the polish off your brush and brush on the nail. Lastly, I added one coat of the glitter to seal in the look. The end result was that it kind of looked like messy street art or graffiti. And that's awesome to me. Cherry Blossoms Nail Art with Zoya Nail Polish

Gambar
Partial Press Sample Good morning and happy Sunday! Today is Mother's Day so I thought I would show off some flowers! My mother actually doesn't really like flowers, but she loves my nail art! I love to come home and do my mom's nails when I can--for special events or just any time! It's nice to carve out time for mother-daughter time, so if you have a mother, make sure to do that (and not just for some silly holiday!). Ok, let's get to the details of the art! Cherry Blossoms Nail Art with Zoya Nail Polish This is actually my first post with the Nail Challenge Collaborative and this month's theme is spring flowers! In the Northeast, cherry blossoms means it's finally spring! So what a better way to kick off this theme! I started with a base of two coats of Zoya Rocky, which is a buttery smoother bright blue cream. Then I used Zoya Lillian from the recent Delight Collection to create clouds. I randomly painted branches coming out from random parts of my nails...

Polished by KPT Bleeding Stars with Cirque Colors Electric Sky

Gambar
Nothing to Disclose I was a little cheeky with my polish choices for this manicure. I was heading to the car show a few weeks ago and wanted something a little flashy. Plus, the car show is all about showing off flashy cars, so glitter it is! And stars! YAS!   Polished by KPT Bleeding Stars with Cirque Colors Electric Sky I started with three thin coats of Polished by KPT Bleeding Stars. I may layer it next time since I think the duochrome-ness (it's not too much though) will show off better. Polished by KPT calls the polish multi-dimensional which is why I say I can see duochrome in here. It's mostly a red copper color and it's so unique! Polished by KPT Bleeding Stars Polished by KPT Bleeding Stars Polished by KPT Bleeding Stars  After I applied Bleeding Stars, I reached for my new Cirque Colors glitter Electric Sky. Electric Sky is a white matte silver glitter with iridescent glitters. You can't see the iridescence as much since I layered it over the microglitter, bu...
