Stella Chroma Ghost and Gummy Worms Sugar Scrub, September 2022 Polish Pickup

Gambar
Press Sample I cannot believe it is Polish Pickup time already. Like seriously, where does the time go? September's theme is always spooky so you can get your goodies in time for Halloween! Halloween is my favorite, so I always look forward to seeing contributions from everyone. And I have to say, if you don't buy this month's scrub, you are seriously missing out! Just wanted to show off Stella Chroma's new boxes! I love the glossy dusty teal color and it is totally unique! Just one more thing to love about the brand. Gummy Worms Emulsified Sugar Scrub: "Gummy worms (especially the pineapple-flavored ones!) are my favorite non-chocolate Halloween candy. It was a no-brainer for a spooky PPU theme! A combination of orange, strawberry, raspberry, lemon, and peach with a hint of sugary sweetness is mixed in with our luxe emulsified sugar scrub formula." $6.50 for 2.5 oz. No cap.   THIS SCENT!!! This is not a gross overly sweet candy scent. This is like fruit ices

KBShimmer IT Scares Me and Pretty Grape Sugar Scrub, September 2022 Polish Pickup

Gambar
Press Sample More spooky stuff! I feel like it would not be Halloween if someone did not do something IT themed, lol. Although, this polish is so pretty, I am going to pretend it has nothing to do with IT. If you love one polish being all the colors, then check this out! "Pretty Grape is a nod to those boldly flavored sugary treats. Like cracking open a can of grape soda, or chewing a yummy piece of grape gum, Pretty Grape is a boldly scented scrub bursting with juicy grape scent. Notes of plump concord grapes blend with sun-ripened berries for a scent is sweet with a hint of sparkle, tart but not medicine. If you could transform the grape flavor of a sucker or soda into scent, this scrub would be it. Purple in color, use this scrub all over, for soft and smooth skin ." This basically smells like a grape jolly ranchers, that artificial grape flavor. If that's what you dig, then you will love this. I have to mention I absolutely love the special Halloween label!   KBS

Watermelon Nail Art

Gambar
Press Sample  I mentioned I wanted to do watermelon art and here we are! Lately, I’ve been seeing so many cute nail art on Pinterest, even though I primarily use it for recipes 😂. Well this is another look that I saw and just had to recreate! I have done so many nail arts with watermelon. Okay, turns out that I have done FIVE looks on my blog. I guess I do watermelons a lot.   Abstract Watermelon Nail Art Watermelon Stamping Watermelon Nail Art with Shimmers Watermelon Nail Art with Cremes Neon Watermelon Art         I wanted it to look a little different from my previous looks and found another awesome art from Sonya Nails . But first, I wanted to show you my ridiculous process of picking colors, because I can't just pick one and call it a day.   In the picture above, you were probably saying Michelle, these are the same color. But if you see below, some have way more yellow undertones, more green, more white. They are all different!    The colors I ended up choosing are below.

Vintage Sunshine Nails

Press Sample More Pinterest-inspired looks! I have had a Pinterest board of gorgeous nail looks that I wanted to re-create since the beginning. I pinned this a while ago and well, I finally re-created it. I loveeeeee it. This was inspired by a look from Sonya's Nails . I found these on Pinterest and I am so glad cause she does awesome work and I pinned so many more looks! I’ve been deep in academia so my creative juices have been subdued lately so I love when artists share work so I can be inspired. I loved the dusty and vintage quality of the colors chosen. I feel like my brain loves complicated nail art, so I need help with figuring out simple nail art. This really did not take me any time at all and to say I love it is an understatement.   Here are the colors I used. I knew right away that I wanted to use Moose Milk. I need another bottle of that polish because I absolutely love it. I then compared at least 5 different dusty yellows, 6 different blues, and 3 different oranges.

My Dress and My Nails

Gambar
Press Sample August is a busy month for me. I am back to in-person work and prepping for the beginning of my semester. Plus, it's always a lag in swatching, since it's that in-between time of summer and fall collections. But I do have one fall collection being delivered today! Because of all of that, I basically just do nail art and only like once a week. I went to a wedding a few weekends ago, so here is my dress and my nails! I took a close-up image of my dress to show you the colors I used. The dress was majority green and lots of variations of it so I chose the pink tones for my nails! So I have a super bad habit of doing my nails and then a week later, taking pics when they are wrecked. So I tried to fix my nails for photos in 300 degree heat and well, meh. But I wanted to show you the concept of what this looked like because it was really pretty.   I only used two colors for this look.  Morgan Taylor All American Beauty Morgan Taylor All About the Pout  I did three coats
