Orange Glitter Gradient with Stella Chroma

Gambar
Press Samples So today I am sharing what I actually wore for Father’s Day. My dad loves orange so I figured why not do some orange nails when I went to go see him. I wanted a softer orange too. Don't laugh, I took these pictures a full week after putting them on, so there is some growth. That's just my life now! Also, I chopped my nails off. Just felt time! Summer is hot and humid and I tend to do simpler art. Really, as I get more and more busy though, simple art is all I do. I started thinking of dots and such, and then I decided, what's better than a gradient? I was browsing the Stella Chroma site and she has this STUNNING picture of Cactus Bloom with oranges and greens on her home page. I was like ugh, now I want to wear Cactus Bloom. It's a yellow-based orange, but orange nonetheless, so it worked out perfectly! I used the colors below: Base: 2 coats of Stella Chroma Cactus Bloom Gradient: Dabbed on Stella Chroma Do This Again. Old Fashioned  I love how fun and br...

Zoya Pink Palette Nail Art

Gambar
Press Sample Hi all! So I literally had no idea of what I was doing when I sat down, and of course, I love how this came out. Zoya has been very into "palettes" lately. This was the spring pink palette, which I shared the other day. It was 5 cremes and one shimmer. I used four of the six colors, so let's take a look!   I knew I wanted to do some random lines and dots to show off the differences in the pinks. This was one of those looks where I sat down with no idea what I was doing and I love how it came out! I chose to start with a base of a medium pink so the lighter and darker colors would pop off of it. Below are the colors from the Pink Palette that I used: Base: Shannon 2 coats  Lines: Gigi Shimmer: 2 coats of Angel Dots: Maddy I didn’t use Joanie or Kay just because it would have looked too busy to try and use all 6 colors in this particular look. I literally just painted my base and then added random swerves of the shimmer. I did the random swerves in different d...

Zoya Pink Palette Summer 2022

Press Sample All things pink! My niece happened to be over when this package arrived and you guessed it, pink is her absolute favorite color. That 5-year-old oohed and aahed at every color. Can you guess which one she picked to wear immediately?! Yup, she wore these before me! If pink is your jam, then this collection is for you! I actually love wearing light pink polish, and I love cremes, so this collection is great! Joanie : 3 coats plus top coat. “ A soft tulip pink cream .” 2 coats is patchy. This has a more muted tone than I thought it would. I was hoping it would be a bit brighter especially for summer pale pink. It still is a lovely pink which I can see going on my toes during spring time. Maddy : 2 coats plus top coat. " A wearable flamingo pink cream ." When I hear flamingo pink, I definitely think brighter than this. I guess this is before the flamingo eats the shrimp. It’s still a really pretty pink and it goes on in just two coats. Shannon : 2 coats plus top coa...

10 Years of Ehmkay Nails, Looking Back

Gambar
Press Sample  So normally, for my anniversary blog post, I post my birthday manicure! But since I decided to re-create my first blog post ever , I wanted to share this in a separate post plus take a walk down memory lane! It is fun to see my nails and photography change over the years. Of course, I am happy to say both have improved! Since it has been 10 years, I wanted to do a round up of all of my blog posts to celebrate my anniversary. I actually laughed as I collected these together because apparently I can’t decide how to spell blog anniversary and I did some crazy spelling changes throughout the years. For fun, below I have linked all my anniversary posts! 2012: Inaugural Post: Cheers to a New Blog! 2013: My One Year Blogaversary with my Birthday Nails 2014: Two Year Blogiversary with my Birthday Nails 2015: No official blog post, but I wore Stella Chroma Waimea Waters 2016: 4th Blogging Anniversary: Neon Birthday Ruffles 2017: 5th Blogging Anniversary: Neon Tie Dye Birthday...

Ehmkay Nails at 10: 10th Blogging Anniversary

Gambar
Contains Press Samples Holy cow, I started this blog ten years ago. I really cannot believe I am still keeping it going. For one, no one reads blogs anymore. I know this by my numbers of views. They only want swatch reels and that is all. But a video and a quick photo can make ANYTHING look nice. A blog gives the full review, but I guess that isn’t what people want! Every year I say how much more will I continue this? Who knows.  So if you head to my first post ever , you can see why I started my blog and all that! I was showing it to Mr. Ehmkay and he was like, why don't you recreate that nail art? WHY DIDN'T I THINK ABOUT THAT?! He is the reason I started this blog and he always has the ideas! I usually post my birthday manicure for my blog anniversary post, but hey, this is better! Look at this comparison!  The left is 10 years ago, if you couldn't tell, LOL!   I tried to use the polishes I used ten years ago. Yup, really. Turns out I had all but four of them!...
