Super Heroes Nail Art: Poison Ivy

Gambar
Press Sample I'm back from my trip! I apologize that I had issues with schedules posts, but what can ya do?! Continuing with The Nail Challenge Collaborative theme of Super Heroes, I'm continuing with the Sirens of Arkham City! Does my first manicure of Batman make sense now? I'm starting off with the first siren of Poison Ivy! Super Heroes Nail Art: Poison Ivy I started with a base of Paintbox Polish Waimea Waters, which was actually my birthday manicure! It's a gorgeous microglitter in a teal base and it's so sparkly. I think of Poison Ivy as being super fabulous and sparkly so I loved this as a base. (Swatches of the full collection coming this weekend!) Then I used Elevation Polish Yeti Hides in the Mini Apple to create flowy red hair. I took a bunch of green cremes and drew vines on my outer nails as Poison Ivy always has vines on her outfits! Topped it all with one coat of top coat. Clothing Inspiration: Neon Matte Stripes Nail Art

Gambar
Nothing to Disclose Hi all! I'm posting from Denver right now! Hence why I've been quiet. I scheduled posts but noticed none posted! Not sure what happened but yesterday was my 3 year blogiversary so I had to stop by and say hello! I'll be back next week. Let's get to the post! Clothing Inspiration: Neon Matte Stripes Nail Art Backstory: I bought so much nail polish at one point (as we all do) that I was drowning in untrieds. Well, I was diligent, stopped buying, and now only have about 15 untrieds, which I am totally comfortable with (as opposed to triple digits). So now, I can finally get back into guilt-free nail art and using polishes multiple times without feeling guilty (and how silly to feel that way?!). So I was sitting thinking what to do, and my boyfriend said, why not paint your nails like your tank top? WELL DUH! So here we are! I bought this basic cotton tank top from Old Navy last year; I loved the color combo. The neon with the taupe, perfect! I used a ba...

Cirque Colors Holographic Rainbow Stripes Nail Art

Gambar
Nothing to Disclose Sorry for the break; it was my birthday weekend AND I've been working like crazy since I'm going to Denver in a few days to present some of my writing (eek!). Anyway, it is no secret that I love Cirque Colors. Something about buying local and supporting my city just feels so good! I've also met Annie at the fairs she used to sell at (do more!) and I love supporting brands that I feel a personal connection to! I'm always reaching for my Cirques and when I craved rainbows, it was no question that I grab my Cirques. (And I've just surpassed the 50 mark! I must take a picture!) Cirque Colors Holographic Rainbow Stripes Nail Art To create this look, I started with a beige creme base of OPI My Vampire is Buff. Then I used a small striping brush and gently beginning at my cuticle, brushed loose lines of each holographic polish. I wanted the look to be rustic and not fully filled in. I continued using each holographic polish to complete a rainbow loo...

Super Heroes Nail Art: Batman!

Gambar
Nothing to Disclose June marks a new month so a new theme for the Nail Challenge Collaborative. This month is Super Heroes and I'm basing this month's theme on Batman and the Sirens of Arkham! So I'm starting with a modern Batman look! Batman Nail Art with Elevation Polish Eyes of Glimmering Coal I debated doing a typical black and yellow theme but looking at the latest Batman costumes, it actually have no yellow! So I began with Elevation Polish Eyes of Glimmering Coal which is a charcoal steel holographic that I felt perfectly fit his steel costume! Then I outlined the Batman logo with Zoya Dovima and simply filled it in. Lastly, I outlined the Batman with Sinful Colors Leather Loose. I left it all matte! Smitten Polish Not Your Mama's Easter Grass

Gambar
Nothing to Disclose Here's a quick swatch of an awesome polish! It's all clouds here, but this polish is super super sparkly. Trust me. And lime green? Yeah, that's my favorite. Smitten Polish Not Your Mama's Easter Grass Smitten Polish Not Your Mama's Easter Grass: 3 thin coats.  Even with my photos, you can see how bright and sparkly this polish is. I had mostly clouds though and the polish was so sparkly, my indoor lighting was like ah! Sunflowers with Elevation Polish

Gambar
Nothing to Disclose Lately, I've been wearing the life out of my Elevations. It sort of makes me feel I could dwindle down much of my stash in favor of Elevations, but we digress. Let's discuss some new Elevations I got and my sunflowers! Sunflower Nail Art with Elevation Polish I began with a base of Limestone. This polish probably is good at 2 coats but it's so humid, I needed three coats to level it out. I then randomly dotted Small Batch Prototype Parinacota at the base of my nail. Parinacota isn't currently available as SBPs are a one month deal, but hopefully a similar color will come out in the future! Then I randomly brushed pedals with the new Icho Namiki from the Japanese collection. This is SO bright and you need to see it on its own, so swatches pending. Lastly, I used Yeti's Healing Vibes to create stems. Yeti's Healing Vibes is a charity polish that helps with the earthquakes in Nepal, so go ahead and grab it! Galaxy Dotticure with Constellation Water Decals

Gambar
Partial Press Sample I was in the mood for galaxies, and by fate, galaxy artwork popped on my Instagram feed and here's the result! And I wore it for a week! Galaxy Dotticure with Constellations Nail Art I love this water decal set. I chose to focus on the constellations but plan on using the zodiac sign for my upcoming birthday (which I'm pretending isn't happening. I'm not much on birthdays). First, I saw this photo on Instagram from an artist Elspeth Mclean. Her artwork has gone viral and it is super awesome for nail art! I saw this constellations and were blown away. I had to re-create it!  Photo Credit: Elspeth Mclean, Instagram I started with a base of Elevation Polish Yeti was a Shadow, which is a dark grey soft holographic polish. Then sticking with the blue, purple, and magenta base, I added larger dots first. Then the medium dots. Lastly, the smallest dots. The colors I used includes: Illamasqua Cameo, Illamasqua Noble, Illamasqua Jomina, Zoya Rock, Elevation ...
